TCR Endorses Harvey Hilderbran for Texas Comptroller

January 15, 2014

Houston, TX—Texas Conservative Review today announced its support of Harvey Hilderbran in his campaign for Texas Comptroller on the 2014 Republican primary election ballot. Hilderbran is vying to replace current Comptroller Susan Combs who is not seeking re-election. Speaking on behalf of TCR, Editor-in-Chief Gary Polland said, “Harvey Hilderbran’s experience both as a businessman and a conservative member of the Texas House of Representatives gives him both the public and private sector perspectives Texans need at the Comptroller’s office. Harvey’s record of achievement on issues important to conservatives along with his vision to be both an advocate for and a partner with job creators and taxpayers leaves no doubt that he is the most qualified candidate to be our next Texas Comptroller. Texas Conservative Review believes Harvey Hilderbran is the best choice for Comptroller and is proud to endorse him for election in the March 4th Republican Primary Election.” Polland also noted that Hilderbran’s ten-point “Performance Pledge to the Voters” and “Texas Taxpayers Bill of Rights” fit well with the TCR philosophy that the candidates who deserve conservative support are those who have big conservative ideas and the energy to achieve them.

Gary Polland served three terms as Harris County Republican Party, is a practicing attorney and, for the past twelve years, the Editor-in-Chief of Texas Conservative Review. He is also the co-host of Red, White and Blue on PBS Houston, which is now in its twelfth season.
